Meet Jeff Butterworth
BOSTONVOYAGER - LOCAL STORIES
Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Butterworth.
Jeff, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
When I graduated from Boston College, I’d developed a number of unhealthy habits, and it was a bit more than evident. After working in Boston for a few years following, a sedentary lifestyle had cemented my poor physical condition.
Unsure about what I wanted to do with my professional future, I started working for a local gym in membership sales, and eventually fell in with their running club to drop a few pounds and at least feel the part of daily gym-goer. Several years and four marathons later, I’d finally dropped the extra weight, and had discovered a wider world of fitness and training, soon becoming a personal trainer, and later taking on the position of Fitness Director.
I love the field of fitness, as we are so open source that, if you’re willing to keep reading, there’s no reason to ever stop learning. Wanting to make more of an impact in my clients’ lives and with a desire to create something of my own, I soon made the decision that my time at gym was up, and I struck out on my own to open Rx Strength Training in 2011...
